Assistant Coordinator Program

The Assistant Coordinator Program for volunteers has been developed to meet the needs of DCAP and the growing need for education about HIV/AIDS on a world scope. It is structured to capitalize on the creative genius and skills of volunteers and interns while helping them develop new skills needed for successful careers in both for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Guiding principles and practices for these volunteer positions are based on research and field experiences conducted by American Humanics and leadership scholars, Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. American Humanics (humanics.org) is a recognized leader in developing competencies for non-profit leadership. The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership (leadershipchallenge.com), the result of research by Kouzes and Posner, is a recognized tool for leadership development.
